I was so impressed with El Cabo. The service was great and the food came out hot and fresh. Everything on my plate was cooked very well. Nice portion for the price too. I'm looking forward to eating there again one day.
If you live near/in Walnut Cove, you know El Cabo! It is a locally owned/operated Mexican restaurant with a small bar that serves great drink specials! This family supports the community continuously! You will see their name on everything! They are also behind the scenes helping when no one can see! If you are visiting Hanging Rock State Park or just in the area, be sure to stop and support! They have amazing lunch specials all week long! And, they get you in/out fast! We make sure to come to this restaurant every time we come to Walnut cove. It is always consistently really good food and the service is just really nice people. This trip I got two grilled chicken tacos and a grilled steak taco.

I meant to write this review after our first visit a week ago, but we made it back again and here I am. This place is awesome. We do small road trips all over, and we spend a lot of time around Walnut Cove. We finally made the decision to stop and eat here as another favorite, The Milk Bar, was closed. The minute we entered we knew we had found a hidden gem. Friendly, smiling faces were the norm, all the wait staff was amazing! The restaurant itself is open, airy and has a wonderful atmosphere. We enjoyed the home made salsa and chips while we decided what we wanted. Delicious! The ordering was easy and straight forward, and our food came out in record time! Everything we ordered was delicious, (buffalo and regular shrimp tacos) and the flautas were beyond good. We were welcomed by both managers on duty and we knew we had found a happy place. We were out wandering again this week, and even though we had left Walnut Cove abs were back in Winston, when the subject of dinner came up we knew we had to drive back to El Cabo. The fajitas were our choice this trip and they did not disappoint. Several of the employees remembered us from our 1 visit, and came over to greet us and chit chat for a minute. Having that kind of friendly staff is what puts a place head and shoulders above others. We are now regulars there and we know we will enjoy many futures meals there. Thanks to the wonderful wait staff and kudos to the cooks for a job well done.
